105 days...
as you read this, i assume most of you are crying tears of joy.. yes, it's true, after 105 days of waiting.... i'm back, babydolls.
i've told myself i'm going to become a regular blogger again.. blogging is therapeutic for me. but really, i wouldn't encourage any of you to get your hopes up just yet.
so let's catch up...
october...
my last blog was halloween. HALLOWEEN! i ditched my friends and some big costume bash to stay home, watch scary movies, and eat kit kats. the next morning i woke up feeling the same as i assume most of my party pals.. no bueno.
i was tired: i had convinced myself some crazy in a jason mask was going to bust thru my windows and slit my throat. so i "slept" with a fork on my nightstand as if that was going to save me when the bad guys invaded. i freaking love scary movies. seriously.
and hungover: make that a chocolate hangover. i ate too many kit kats. to be exact, five fun-sized kit kats. you see, i like chocolate. the problem is, it really doesn't like me. 99% of the time i avoid it, and the other 1% usually just makes for a killer stomach ache.
november...
i bought a new pair of north face rain pants. i wore them three times. and those three times coincided with the three losses my football team has seen over our last few seasons. now i'm not saying the losses are soley because of the rain pants... however, as awesome as these pants are i also will not be defending the pants. because let's just be honest here, these rain pants have some pretty bad juju. now i'd like to say i learned my lesson and retired the rain pants immediately following loss #3... but ultimately, i did no such thing. the pants made their re-return in january. i'm not proud. stay tuned...
also in november, i turned 30. yeah, you heard me... THIRTY! i know, i know, i don't look a day over 24. my youthfulness aside, some good friends (kara, tara and lo) made the trip out to cal where we all celebrated thanksgiving and my dirty30 in true CMU fashion. the 5 day extravaganza included: a kara-cooked thanksgiving dinner (tara and i helped... a little), a flamingo, jeggings, black friday crazies, t-pain, cupcakes, a piano bar, some hiccups, XL beers, mustaches, college football rivalry games, jello shots, some tweeting, a little throw up, a lot of shufflin and a fancy dance move we like to call the "wiggle wiggle wiggle". i'd love to explain this all in greater detail, but most stories aren't appropriate to be repeated in a public forum (especially one my mother reads).
so if you weren't here, you missed out.
and if you were here, well then, you know... you know!
december...
my highlight was a two week trip home for the holidays. it was filled with great times with my family, christmas cookies, hometown christmas light tours, lots of laughs and drinks with some of my best friends that i don't get to see often enough, sub shoppe tacos, cheese curds and pasties, a visit to the stormy kromer factory, marenisco madness, two packer games (and wins!) and a camoflauged new years eve.
january...
i headed back to michigan for the wedding of one of my oldest friends. there were good people, old babysitters, lots of dancing, even more drinks and a group of 14th ave-ers reunited for shennanigans.
i also flew home for the packer/giants playoff game.
this game is where the before mentioned rain pants made their re-return...
was wearing the pants for a 4th time a good decision on my part??
aaron rodgers did not approve...clay matthews did not approve...
long story short, we all know how the game turned out which makes me 0-4 while wearing the rain pants. i think we're done. the pants need to be retired.
simply speaking, this video below could have very easily been me. thankfully, my dad is technology impaired and didn't have the knowledge and/or means to capture what no one needed to see. but a sympatheic shout out to the girl in the video because guuuuurl, i feel you. i. feel. you.
that about brings us to the present...
i'm working on a valentine's tribute. i promise a little bit of sap and a whole bunch of sarcasm. get your tissues and eyes rolls ready.
until next time, you know you love me
xoxo,
-Ali
